If you didn't have a chance to play Naughty Dog's action adventure trilogy on PlayStation 3, then we reckon that you're in for a real treat with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PlayStation 4 - and the freshly released reviews for these particular remastered adventures back us up on that line of reasoning. With high scores across the board, it looks like this is one reworked package that's had a lot of meaningful effort put into it, as you'd expect from porting experts Bluepoint Games. We'll have our own review ready to roll in the very near future, but until then, let us know if you'll be jumping back into the shoes of everyone's favourite treasure hunter in the comments section below.
GameSpot - 8/10
With Uncharted 2 and 3, though, Naughty Dog transcended Drake's own small beginnings. The Nathan Drake Collection is a firsthand account of Naughty Dog's growth as a storyteller, and this collection is the best way to relive that history, and witness its transformation up close.
The Jimquisition - 8/10
If you were already a fan of the series, this remastered bundle will be worth picking up. Those who are a bit more cynical, as I was, may very well find themselves surprised by the time they've slogged through all three of them. Pleasantly so.
VideoGamer - 7/10
It's like an ultraviolent travel show, presented by three or four people who seem to be having a great time. It's just a shame the player has to slog through so much nonsense to join them.
GamesRadar - 8/10
The narrative arc of Nathan Drake's games pair with a technological arc of sorts, starting with the small beginnings of Drake's Fortune and ending in the 'climax' of Uncharted 3's stunning desert canyons and how'd-they-do-that lighting. If you value the craft of games and appreciate how they evolve, here's your chance to see how Uncharted grew up.
God is a Geek - 10/10
Even if you played all three games on PS3, it's worth picking up again now – but if for some reason you missed them first time round, maybe because you never owned a PS3 or simply overlooked them, the Nathan Drake Collection is utterly, maddeningly essential. With Uncharted 4 not too far away, this is the perfect time to go off the edge of the map all over again with Naughty Dog's seminal franchise.

8, 8 and 7 is climbing to the top isn't it more so falling due to age?
wtf are videogamer on about?
Those scores are not that high. Great value if you've never played the Uncharted games, but Vita game should have been included to warrant the moniker "collection".
Cue comments about how 8/10 isn't a good score. Come on guys.
Don't really know why it's even being reviewed, perhaps a few comments as to how the ports themselves have been handled but just go back and read the original reviews and perhaps knock a point off for the reduction in wow factor as a result of them being around a while.
Pointless!
Can't wait for this, first time for me
@SonyInfinity You're in for a treat. I've been having a blast with this collection. Our review will be up soon.
Might pick this up when it's a bit cheaper.
@get2sammyb only thing I am worried about is the first game feeling VERY outdated, but I suppose I need to start at the beginning.
That Videogamer review is so full of its own crap.
@Kidfried @SonyInfinity I have it on preorder what date is it out? I know its October but I'm pretty sure I was the 15th or something.
@ShogunRok 8/10 is good, but 7/10 well.....
The demo was great!
Ad far as the reviews, let's admit this, Microsoft made the Master Chief Collection seem like a worthy first party November title, that's because they know how to market a product and build hype. Sony has been pretty lukewarm with the Uncharted collection, and that's on them, it's a shame as it should be their focus for marketing this fall.
I guess what I'm trying to get at,......had the anticipation and hype been there, the Uncharted collection probably would have reviewed better with the press.....even if it's already know to be a stellar port job.
@sub12 lol
Also, I played Drake's Fortune for the first time this spring, it was still a very enjoyable......and playable title, so stop with all of this unneeded concern.
"It's like an ultraviolent travel show, presented by three or four people who seem to be having a great time. It's just a shame the player has to slog through so much nonsense to join them."
What?
I've never been a fan of the series... I'll probably bite with Uncharted 4, but this is gonna be a pass. I got lots of backlog to go through with my PS4 as it is, plus Mario Maker and Splatoon on Wii U still taking lots of my free time.
@Vorlon scoring in games is stupid as a 5 means normal or average a 6 is better than normal so yes if you go buy mathematical common sense then 7,8,9 are very good but stupid gamers think if its not 9s or 10s its bad but they are the morons who dont know math or how to break down a number scale.
@ricklongo mari maker and splatton LOL what junk compared to these games that took true skill to make and have some of the best story telling ever in gaming. Wii u in general is disgusting how its become a Nazi clan in the way you are not allowed to do anything from using your own names on Miiverse because they find its offensive LOL WTF its a name or how archaic they are .
I have to wait and see how it turns out at launch but assuming Bluepoint did the job, this should get nothing short of 9s especially since that's what Broken Chief Collection received and it had no business getting above 4s due to the fact it was... broken. And Halo is my favorite franchise but bs is bs. If this collection is in order, no reason it shouldn't score what some of these other remasters have.
@sub12
I don't usually buy into conspiracies but in the case of MCC, or BCC as I like to refer to it, there is only one reason it scored as well as it did and that's $. MS definitely slipped people cash because there is no way in hell a game that is that broken (hell it's STILL broken) at launch should receive good scores. DriveClub and AC Unity were rightly taken to task. Why wasn't MCC? Sure you could say hype, I say $ because any self-respecting journalist who wants to keep their credibility would put hype and love for the franchise aside and give it a real review, unless they're getting a massive payoff to lie to the public. And flat-out lying is exactly what everybody who gave that disaster a positive review did.
Anyway, I love Uncharted but I'll probably give this a pass, at least initially. Got a few other games I need to payoff first.
@sub12 Doesn't that highlight more of a concern within the game's press that they only give game's the highest scores if it's had a huge marketing presence?
@godslayer1975 I pity people like you, but hey, opinions.
@DominicanGlory I don't know, from trying the demo I get where they're coming from. If that's representative of the complete package, I'd have gone with 6 or 7.
@adf86
I suppose, you get a bunch of awkward if not nerdy gaming journalist a free flight to your HQ for a week, set them up in a plush hotel, brown nose them a bit and give them some free merchandise.....set up their play area and make sure they are comfortable.
But hey, "you can give it whatever review score you want buddy ol pal".
I only played through these just before PS4 came out so it's probably a little early to revisit them now even though I'm tempted.
Might pick this up in the bargain bin a few years down the line...
@sub12 I don't think actual money changes hands between companies and reviewers but we know that so called "review events" happen which like you say can end up a pretty cushy trip for critics.
@godslayer1975 Are you calling me a moron?
God is a geek must the a 9.99 score average.... . It is a 10s factory
@adf86
I agree for the most part, but between ad revenue, review events, gift items or accommodations, and or just mostly brown nosing, or keeping healthy connections........the gaming review scene can look a bit questionable.
I have been saying this like a broken record, but if multiplayer is not in 2 and 3 then I don't see them beating the originals' scores.
I'm excited but poor. I'll wait till I find it cheaper used on a listing.
@SonyInfinity
I just got to the end of Drakes Fortune last month and loved it. Though the difficulty was a bit high for me. Just started 2 and its amazing!!!
I really like Jim Sterling's review.
UC2 was great, but once you got to the monastery it really did just become a couple hours of fairly straightforward but very difficult gunfights, and Naughty Dog is above that kind of design.
UC3, while it might have inconsistencies and feel rushed in the story, does exactly what ND wanted to do with Uncharted all along - make a game that could be the dictionary definition of an AAA game.
Gamespot gave this 8/10 but FIFA 16 9/10. Says it all, really.
@godslayer1975 I think it's time to take your pills.
[off-topic] Can anyone help me get AC Brotherhood's online trophies on PS3??
Sorry, I couldn't tell after playing the demo but did Bluepoint Games really improved the aiming mechanics?
Also, off-topic, but any chance we're gonna get the reviews for both Transformers: Devastation and Dragon Quest Heroes before their release dates as well?
to be honest with you i dont really give two hoots about review scores if i like a look of a game ill buy it uncharted collection day one for me !!
