The excitement of Gamescom 2015 may have subsided, but that's okay, because there are about a billion new PlayStation games due out this week. Alright, we're exaggerating a teensy bit, but considering that it's the summer, such an enormous roster of new software is practically unheard of. In fact, there's so much stuff that we're going to cut this introduction short and get straight down to business.
Pick of the Week: Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
T'was almost impossible selecting a Pick of the Week this time, but we suppose that we should go with the big new PlayStation 4 exclusive. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is the latest title to come out of Sony Santa Monica's external publishing arm, with Brighton-based developer The Chinese Room at the helm. Set in a picturesque Shropshire village during the 1980s, the game deals with the apocalypse in a very British way, doing away with Michael Bay-esque fire and brimstone, and instead focusing on the lives that have been left behind.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture PS4 Review
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is a masterwork – a gorgeous and subtle experience, which treats you as an adult, without ever indulging in pretence. It cares about its characters enough to give them interesting and meaningful things to say, while also playing host to some truly breathtaking art direction and music.
You'll be free to explore your deserted rural surroundings, and you'll happen upon very human sub-plots along the way. The simplistic gameplay – which mainly involves soaking up the scenery – is sure to divide, but those that prefer a narrative-driven experience will definitely appreciate the melancholy plot. Either way, we're pretty sure that everyone will be sucked in by the stunning visuals, which capture rural England at both its most beautiful and disturbing.

Rapture! Rapture! Rapture!
Really looking forward to the End of the World Party.
Any idea if Goat sim is cross buy and what price it will have?
Also a very random question and out of topic, I hope you dont mind. Does anyone knows if jojo's bizarre adventure has anything similar with arcade mode that has individual characters endings? ( sorry for that but couldnt find anything specific and the offer ends soon )
Rapture is looking phenomenal and at $15.99 plus a free dynamic theme u can't go wrong.
Every week PS4 has hot exclusives, last week it was the fantastic Galak-Z, this week Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, next week Volume, the week after Until Dawn.
PS4 is delivering year round, i love it.
Toys Soldiers: War Chest and Gauntlet: Slayer Edition both look fun.
Ascendant looks like an excellent 2-D rogue-like beat em up, it releases thre same day as Until Dawn, August 25th (NA).
Does anyone know what happened to Bedlam? Was supposed to release August 4 on PS4, but i haven't seen it on PSN.
I like that I bought PS4 and it has such a cool game. PS4 is really great compared to... =). Only game on PS4 can have so cool name as Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. I am sure I will enjoy this game because it is on PS4.
What's Gauntlet like? Hopefully 4 player top down view like 1985.
Cant wait for Rapture, buying it tomorrow. getting a big 9 in the review has made the decision easy.
EGTTR, but might get Toy Soldiers as well. The first one on 360 was good.
@Melucine Goat Sim is not cross-buy with PS3. @ShogunRok may be able to answer your question about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
@Gemuarto That's better.
@themcnoisy Yeah, it's isometric. It's the same developer that did Helldivers and Magika.
@Melucine Are we talking about All-Star Battle on PS3? If so, then I don't think it does. It has a standard arcade mode, no endings. If I remember right, though, it does have a story mode that covers the main plot points of each saga.
Brothers isn't cross buy is it? I really enjoyed it on PS3 and wouldn't mind giving it another go.
Looking forward to gauntlet slayer edition, it looks good, and I've always loved gauntlet games! The rapture game I've heard alot about, so I might have to give that a go too, especially since I love Santa Monica studios games and they have involvement in this game
I'm thinking about picking up XBlaze Lost Memories as I enjoyed Code Embryo quite a bit. I'm still on the fence about EGtR though. I enjoyed TVoEC so I'm sure I'd enjoy Rapture as well.
Pretty great week! Rapture, TorqueL, Gauntlet and Kung Fury are all looking great!
@ShogunRok I got it and you where right, no endings at the arcade, but at least it campaing mode and the game are fun
Any idea were toy soldiers war chest is? I cant seem to find it any where on psn
