Ubisoft's getting desperate. Seemingly aware of the fact that absolutely no one on Planet Earth gives a hoot about the upcoming Rainbow Six: Siege, it's rolled out some celebrities to big up the game – like reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson and her footballer husband Hank Baskett. Unsurprisingly, they both think that the release is the absolute best thing since ITVbe.
This video is not just cringe-worthy, it's forced – but then, the French publisher's public relations team is pretty darn keen on releasing a new trailer every damn day, so maybe it's just out of ideas. Are you looking forward to the forthcoming first-person shooter? Feign interest in the comments section below.

This game.
I would rave about it too if they paid me.
Atrocious. I somehow expect better even from Ubisoft.
I'm not even going to bother looking up who this woman is. Ugh. Seriously, reaction videos? They are the absolute bottom of the barrel.
Who the hell wants to see some man child whooping and feigning surprise at trailers? Seriously! Who is watching these things!?!?!?!?
I think all reaction videos look fake, even the P.T. reaction videos. Personally, I don't care much for Ubisoft games (except for Beyond Good and Evil), but I might buy this because my sister actually wants this game (I guess there are a few people out there who do) and she'll probably want me to co-op with her.

PewDiePie's 38.6 million followers seem quite taken by this idea.
It must be confusing for PR companies and divisions nowadays. On one hand you have "celebrities" like PewDiePie who are millionaires and extremely popular amongst a certain type of person as well as all these "people reacts to..." vids, but on the other hand you have the average person who's never actually heard of PewDiePie. I'm 32 and most of my friends are around that age, some are 40 or more, and none of them have heard of this guy. None of them watch Let's Plays on YouTube. To them "LP" refers to a music album.
I get the feeling Siege is probably more aimed at people like us, at least in terms of gender and age, yet because "gamers" love PewDiePie and his ilk, that kind of crap gets mixed into the ad campaign for all sorts of games. There's a big generation/country/something gap in gaming at the moment that people are still adjusting to. Look at older forms of entertainment like music and the equivalent would be like getting Justin Bieber to endorse a new opera house opening in London (not comparing Siege to opera, just the idea of two very different audiences). They both appeal to music fans, right?
@Matroska I get what you mean, but I always thought a let's play and a reaction vid were two different things. One is someone playing a game and giving a commentary, like JonTron (who I quite like. The guy makes me laugh), and the other is some pillock watching something like say, the Deadpool trailer and going "OH MAH GAWWWD THEY HAVE COLOSSUS IN TEH FILM! THIS IS SO AWESOME U GUISE" like an imbecile.
Either way I couldn't give a toss about rainbow six. Haven't since the ps1 days.
Oh, and the only thing I'd purposely watch Bieber on is fire.
@Johnnycide I agree but I mean there's a line where people aren't watching a LP because of the game itself but rather because of the person playing it and you get a kind of cult of personality around that person. They could be terrible at the game. Someone else might be streaming it and be really good at the game but no one watches his stuff because he's not falling out of his chair and yelling.
You get people like Day9 who have the cult of personality thing yet are actually professional in their presentation and good at the game as well, but a lot of it is PewDiePie tier where no one cares what the game is, no one cares if he's talented at the game, they just want funny faces and yelling.
I guess it's not so much the idea of LPs in and of themselves but more specifically the focus on LPers. When it gets too focused on the latter, it's the gaming equivalent of crap like Strictly Come Dancing where the audience aren't watching it because they want to see the world's best dancing, it's because they want to watch Shane Ritchie fall on his arse. The focus is on the z-list celebrity rather than the act of dancing well (i.e. how popular would it be if it was just the pro dancers and not the assortment of soap stars and footballers wives?)
Just another example of how far out of touch with reality the people in charge are if they think this is good for the game however i'm looking forward to this game it's on my must buy list.
@xMEADx We've found a customer, Ubisoft! There is at least one person out there willing to pay money for this game!
I've got an idea Ubisoft, that's so crazy that it might even work, bear with me. What if, and here's a big if just tell me when you don't like it, but what if you guys start making games again people actually like and let the gameplay speak for itself? I know this might sound silly when you just hear it like that and you might wonder where all the millions you put in PR can go into then...but maybe you can use those to enhance gameplay, get some QA done and make sure the servers work on day one.
It's a long shot, I know, but just give it a go and we'll see where this insane "gamer- centric" approach might end up...
@get2sammyb Mwahahaha hopefully people will be suprised how good this game does tbh i'm suprised about the negativeity nearly all my friend's and their friend's friend's etc are pretty pumped for this game however i'm soley talking about MP the gun's all look good and balanced there's plenty of destruction in the map's i've checked out a few multiplayer vid's and it look's awsome. I'm soley about MP here I really don't care about SP.
As much as we mock this pr. The worst part is some people will actually listen.
Somehow I still want to buy this even though the PR is horrendous. It's about on par, maybe a little worse than the "Jacob Frye meme" segment of Ubisoft's E3.
All Ubisoft need to do is just have footage of Aisha Tyler playing their games and making suggestive innuendos every 2 minutes. Foolproof
I must admit, I was under the impression this game was meant to be looking quite good so far. Maybe I missed some previews, is it looking like it's going to be a bit rubbish?
As for these stupid PR stunts, I couldn't care less.
"absolutely no one on Planet Earth gives a hoot about the upcoming Rainbow Six: Siege"
I do. And so does my mate. Looking forward to the co-op.
Unless i missed something, I am actually very much looking forward to this game. I've always preferred tactical shooters to the ridiculous bullet sponge call of duty/battlefield games.
The rules are easy? WTF. This and the ghost etc etc I have zero interest in, they look nice and I'm sure the gameplay is good. But so what. The Division is actually somewhat interesting.
A bit dirty observation on my part, but I seriously thought that girl was a porn star. .
I've never really followed the game, but Rainbow Six is usually a pretty good series, so who knows? It'll probably be better than Ubi's recent output.
She's so hot, I love her! O.O (for ppl that don't know, she was one of heffs bunnies at playboy, was on the girls next door)
Can't wait for this game, I haven't played any in the series in awhile but this one sounds promising.
@DerMeister She was a Playboy Bunny so you're not far off.
Forgot about this game completely.
Forgot about this game completely.
I had to just google the title to remember this game
This game is PvP only, right?
