After its almost worthless Gamescom 2015 showing, it's perhaps good news that Final Fantasy XV's going to present its perfectly sculpted face at PAX later this month. Square Enix has revealed that a new Active Time Report will be broadcast during the expo on its Twitch channel.
Starting at 16:30PM PDT on the 29th August - that's 00:30AM on the 30th August in the UK - the livestream will hopefully give us a fresh glimpse of the release, but as always, we're not getting our hopes up. With the Tokyo Game Show opening its doors next month, we can't see this PAX appearance being all that special, but we'll be hosting it here for you on Push Square regardless.
Mark the date on your calendar, join us for the promised news, and stay for the venomous outrage.

I have been very excited for this throughout but until they show me something that blows me away again or gives us a release window, this game is dead to me.
@ztpayne7 Agreed. If they're not gonna announce a release date or show off something to get people hyped, then I don't care that we get to see more of it.
Didn't really rate the demo at all but I'm finding myself getting more and more hyped for the full game. Some times demos reallllly don't do a game justice, MGS2 aside of course!
Take Dead Space 1's demo. Horrific. So glad it didnt put me off buying the full game.
@kyleforrester87 the Parappa the rappa and wipeout 2097 demos for the ps1 are laughing at you right now, they were both on the same disc of a mag as well....
Kick, punch block its all in the mind.
Why these procrastinated releases? I may actually replay ff13 this is taking so long.
@themcnoisy good shout with the Parapa demo but I think we can all agree the MGS2 tanker demo is the best demo of all time
FF15 has only been being properly developed since 2012, got a few more years left I reckon!!
I'm kinda thinking about playing the FF13 trilogy, then I come to my senses. I know they arnt so bad but I don't think I can hack the first 25 hours of ff13 again.
@kyleforrester87 ff13 was weird, but its a fun story and as a game its playable but stripped down. Ff13-2 on the other hand has good game mechanics but the story is ridiculous and I wanted my party to die a horrible death 💀 they were the worst couple of people fighting the most ridiculous fight.
Bring on ff15 - if its below average this time the ff logo will no longer be a sign of quality so its got to be good.
@kyleforrester87 all I remember from 13 was the moment when you finally get some freedom only to realise that despite 30 hours of grinding in corridors, you can't survive more than 10 seconds against those big dinosaur things.
As for 15 the battle system hasn't quite clicked for me and spoiled my enjoyment of the demo
Takes years to make and only minutes are shown. I want to be there when the game is released but I don't really want to play it. It will be like watching Duke Nukem Forever's or Chinese Democracy's release.
Or Shenmue 3 in a few more decades, er, years.
@carlos82 true the battle system doesn't seem all that, but in fairness I think you need to spend some time with the characters customising their abilities and load outs before the combat will feel involving.
I really hope it lives up to the height, because it'll be ten years next year that the game was first announced.
I think square realizes at this point that they can't screw this up, or they risk losing a marquee franchise. Hopefully they learned their lessons with the last few. Either way, I will always be more hyped for the FF7 remake, so there is always that lol.
I think it's better that they don't show anything. Just wait and then do what Bethesda did. Just show off everything when it's pretty much done and release it five months later.
In all honesty, I'm actually more excited by Dragon Quest XI at this point, but of course time will tell!
