You know that remaster culture has gone too far when Activision opts to re-release both Prototype titles as part of a new-gen Biohazard Bundle. Already available on the Xbox One – and presumably due out on the PlayStation 4 with this week's PlayStation Store updates – the publisher has stealthily deployed a trailer officially announcing the ports. Thanks for the warning, y'all.
To be fair, we had a pretty good idea that this was happening when fresh Trophy lists for Radical Entertainment's open world adventures appeared earlier in the year. The games can be purchased as part of a compilation only it appears, so you'll be getting a double dose of Alex Mercer should you decide to snap this up. Seriously, though – why would you? Like, who on Earth asked for this?

I remember the inFamous Vs. Prototype wars of last-gen. Hysterical stuff.
And now expect a Infamous 1 and 2 remaster
These games are bargain bin at best. Screams cash grab.
@ryanorly no, Sammy just hates fun, and loves starting wars in his comments. They're actually a lot of fun. If you played Hulk Ultimate Destruction on the PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox, then you'll like these games.
@ryanorly they're fun for half an hour or so but quickly becomes incredibly repetitive and dull. The open world city is as basic as can be and very bland. Graphically it was poor upon release and given the company's current state I don't think there'll be many improvements there. Certainly not worth anywhere near the price it'll end up being and if you're really curious I'd seek out the original for a few pounds
Well, at least Activision gives you 2 "remasters" instead of only 1 (God of War III) like Sony.
I heard they were okay, I'll be sticking them on the rental list.
Not bad games, fun in small blasts. I can only think a third has to be on the horizon for these 2 to get remastered.
I'm losing track of all these remasters. Look, remasters are fine, but they need to stop for a while. It's too early for this many of them. Do them later when graphic standards have risen and they'll look better.
@Ryno
Come on quality over quantity. You're right though would have loved all 3 god of war games, I've only played ascension (loved it)so I hear the best is to come for me, going to pick up god of war 1 & 2 on the vita and try and dust them off before getting the gow remaster.
@gingerfrog Compared to the other games, Ascension is a hot pile of garbage. Honestly, if you have a PS3, I'd suggest just getting the God of War saga, with 1, 2, and both of the prequels in HD. Then play 3 on the PS4.
@gingerfrog
Don't feed it.
I actually had fun with Prototype, never play the 2nd.
the story is quite interesting too...
Do we know if this collection will be digital exclusive or not?
I don't understand why we keep getting pointless remasters that very few even want.
A better idea would be to do a poll of people's most wanted remasters.
If you're going to remaster lastgen games why not remaster games like,
FALLOUT 3 & NEW VEGAS,
THE ELDER SCROLLS ANTHOLOGY (which they've just done on PC)
MASS EFFECT TRILOGY,
RED DEAD REDEMTION.
I guess they're my most wanted remasters, but I have a feeling im not alone in wanting these remastered.
Those games would sell no problem and thus make a big enough return to fund future projects.
I'd love to know who comes up with the list of games that they believe we want remastered. The way I see it, they're wasting time and money by remastering games very few people want or have asked for and as such are putting people's jobs at risk by risking the studio financial future.
Fair enough if the games are guaranteed to sell and turn a profit I could understand but its going way to far now. Maybe thats just my opinion but, im sure there is a fare few people who do agree with me.
I liked the prototype games but this is the kinda port i would expect to be in the free ps+ monthlys at some point.......now an Infamouse 1+2 reboot i would pay for.
