Square Enix's closing announcement didn't carry quite as much clout as we may have been hoping, but confirmation of the company's new JRPG-focused studio Tokyo RPG Factory is exciting. While we didn't see much, company gaffer Yosuke Matsuda revealed that a new title by the team named Project Setsuna will launch on consoles in 2016. It's probably safe to bet that that will include PlayStation 4.
"RPG fans from all over the world have supported us along the years," said Matsuda. "To keep creating incredible new RPG titles, we started Project Setsuna and it is developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, a newly established studio for the project." The game will be an entirely new property, unrelated to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest – and we'll apparently learn more about it later in the year.

Square Enix keep announcing things too early. I feel like the muted reception to this was largely due to their history announcing something and then taking about 7 years to release it, possibly changing it endlessly in the process.
Also, to switch who I'm criticising here, I think gamers in general have got a bit too dependent on franchises rather than one-offs. People whoop like crazy just at the mention of a popular franchise even if what's then shown isn't even that great.
@Matroska Have to agree with this
A physical version would be a real treat.
