Sony's helping Capcom with Street Fighter V - this much we know. As such, the new-gen brawler will launch exclusively on the PlayStation 4 as far as consoles are concerned. However, there's been speculation over whether an updated version of the game, perhaps named something like Ultra Street Fighter V, would eventually find its way onto the Xbox One.
Capcom's blown this theory out of the water, though, as a representative told Gamespot that "the reality is that this is a real partnership. We are console exclusive for this franchise for this numbered run." In other words, any Street Fighter game with a 'V' in the title will only ever appear on Sony's newest home system, skipping the competition entirely.
The Japanese manufacturer's got this one locked down, then, but what do you make of this whole exclusive scenario? Put some pressure on your opponent in the comments section below.

Muahahaha, how do you like it, Micro$oft? Finally someone's bought something and you can't touch it!
But on a serious note, that's a pretty interesting move on Capcom's part. Sony must have REALLY paid a pretty penny for it to be 100% exclusive.
Well that's a massive surprise aint it. Is street fighter big on PC? I've no idea?
So they pretty much just confirmed that SFV will get more versions. Haha.
Well, tough luck for Xbox fighters. At least they still have Killer Instinct.
@Superstick Well, that's a given with Street Fighter, but that's still funny. Hopefully not as many as SFIV though.
History repeats it seems, Street Fighter 3 was exclusive for the Dreamcast till the generation after. Just glad that I'm able to play the next Street Fighter game.
Ok, so since they confirmed that there WILL be re-releases... Should i wait and get the next version ? lol
@Superstick
This stood out for me too. I mean I guess It's obvious, but I don't think saying something like that is exactly good marketing. Then again it's Capcom.
@DerMeister Hahaha that's brilliant killer instinct hahahah your killing me hahaha.
On a serious note my reactions are well slower now even compared to 2/3 years ago hopefully it will play a bit slower and have a long window for parries. Can you change the speed of sf4 or 5 in single player as it would be perfect?
@BLPs I was hoping SFII would go without saying. Good lord, there are more versions of that game than animals in a zoo.
@themcnoisy I was trying to a bit sympathetic, but yeah- SF beats KI anyday if you ask me.
Its a no-brainer on Capcom part seeing as the PS4 is the best selling console, with retail games also selling the best on the PS4 as well.
Missing good games sucks. I'd rather cough up a few hundred extra bucks to own all three consoles than worry about missing a game I wanna play
I'd be concerned if there wasn't going to be a Super Street Fighter V. Capcom not making numerous editions of their games is sign for alarm.
Plot twist: Microsoft will be the exclusive home of Darkstalkers.
Love it.
@Faruko
Good point lol
Nice! Now get to work on making a Monster Hunter game for the PS4.
And funnily enough I don't believe any of it.
I dont believe it. But even if being completely true, I wonder if they'll take an overall hit in sales as opposed to the usual multiplatform release. Technically it's still coming out on PC so Microsoft gains something.
