Usf4 Launch

This hasn't started off very well, has it? What was supposed to be the definitive edition of Capcom's superb Street Fighter IV, Ultra Street Fighter IV on PlayStation 4 has launched with a slew of problems that have the hardcore fighting game crowd in an uproar.

For years now, both official and non-official fighting game tournaments have made use of Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360, as the PlayStation 3 version of the fighter was marred by some slight lag - a huge no-no when it comes to competing for big cash prizes. With that in mind, the new-gen port was supposed to usurp the Xbox 360 edition, and become the professional tournament Street Fighter of choice.

However, with the brawler's release on the PlayStation Network yesterday, reports have been flooding in that the title's just not up to scratch. For starters, many players are reporting severe bouts of online lag during ranked matches. Not only that, but some are claiming that there's even offline lag to contend with, and that the game suffers from awful frame rate drops on occasion. The icing on the cake is that the lag also bleeds into the menu screens. You just couldn't make this up.

With the PS4 port being billed as the official tournament title, the development team has its work cut out for it if Capcom doesn't want an angry riot on its hands. Numerous professional players have already taken to social media to spread the word of the game's disappointing performance, and, with any luck, this whole fiasco will hopefully end more smoothly than the brawler's juttering launch.
