Dynamic themes are fast becoming the PlayStation Store's answer to pre-order bonuses, and thus it's no surprise that the North American edition of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for the PlayStation 4 comes with an animated wallpaper if you purchase it digitally. While these tend to comprise of marketing materials and little more, though, Square Enix has actually invested a little effort into this one – with emphasis on 'little'.
The theme's not bad, showing a scoreboard on the top layer of the user interface and the oceanic backdrop of the rest of the stadium on the bottom, but the low-poly ball that bounces around is a bit... Bleurgh, isn't it? At least there's a blast of jangly guitar rock to keep you company while you sort through your games, as well as the series' iconic menu navigation sounds. Still, we're not sure that we could stomach this one for very long.

I read "play blitzball... PS4" and got so excited, I thought a stand-alone blitzball game was coming to PS4.
I don't care what anyone says, I sank more hours into blitzball than the main game. Oh well, I'll wait patiently for it to happen (as well as a Triple Triad game, FF8's card game was the best). http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Blitzball_a8fa9b_2512927.jpg
@Cloud7794 -Triple Triad was the best, I played SKylanders Giants in part just to play their version, and should have had it's own game on PSN, but I never got into blitzball at all.
I would however run this theme as I like the water effect.
I love the theme, and the sound stabs are brilliant. I wont be buying again as I've got it on Vita, and that is THE best way to play. Viewed the under water date scene whilst my real wife was snoring beside me... Perfect.
@rjejr @Cloud7794 Triple Triad is the best card game on computer, well better than Solitaire on PC and a million times better Than that rubbish card game in ff9.
@Cloud7794 I would love a standalone Blitzball game, It would be so awesome.
@themcnoisy - I honestly don't remember a card game in FF9. Not that I remember much - 1st hour was almost all CG and epic, there was a thornbush wall, and the knight was funny and the black wizard was the best character, that's about it. I am getting so senile.
@rjejr It was Tetrall master or something. Where as triple triad had 4 sides of numbers, tetrall had arrows pointing in 8 directions. It wasn't very good. But I'm still glad it was included.
I will never buy another PS4 theme again. What a gyp!
I was getting tired of my PS Now theme, and decided to take a browse on the store to see what else they had to offer. Ended up picking out five of my favorite abstract themes. Download them, and each and everyone of them was garbage!
Either they had no music playing, AT ALL, or the resolution was blurry, or both. Never again. I'll just stick with the free ones they shell out. Which is a shame because I spend at least $10 a month on themes on my 3DS.
"Yuna you want it." Well done, well done
@themcnoisy - Just watched a video on youtube and it's really not ringing any bells I kind of sort of maybe remember playing it but not liking it so I didn't play it if I didn't have to. Which is the opposite of FF8, I played everyone I could in 8 and worked on building up my deck.
20th Anniversary one is still the best and it will likely remain that way forever.
Off topic, but what we need isn't more themes. Where are the avatars?
Tetra Master was the card game in FFIX and I put a TON of hours into that game. Blitzball, on the other hand, made no sense, and I hated every minute of it. You have to do way too much mental math for it to be any fun, and the results of matchups are random to a ridiculous extent which just makes it incredibly unbalanced.
I personally disliked the Blitzball mini-game, was glad when when the storyline moved on.
