No one could finish off Mortal Kombat X this week, as it held on to the UK sales charts top spot for a second term. In truth, NetherRealm Studios' brutal brawler didn't exactly have fierce competition; Tropico 5 was the only real noteworthy new title released at retail last week, and it debuted in 18th position on the PlayStation 4.
The top ten, then, paints a very familiar picture: Grand Theft Auto V, Battlefield Hardline, Minecraft, and FIFA 15 filled out the first five slots, while Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Dying Light, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection rounded out the rest. Elsewhere, WWE 2K15 shot up into tenth, at the expense of Bloodborne which fell down into 12th position.
With the release schedule looking a little bare for the foreseeable future, we're not expecting this lineup to change too much moving forwards – though we're sure that Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Project CARS, and, most importantly, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will have a thing or two to say in early May. Who is still buying fifa 15??? Its almost the end of the season. As for Minecraft and gta v these are the franchises that keep on giving. Who's still buying them??? Its a first world problem but consumers are idiots. Out if that whole top 10 there's only 1 new IP that my friends is sad.
I don't care if the foreseeable future looks barren release-wise, there still is plenty to play. With Diablo 3, Bloodborne, GTA V, Minecraft, Resident Evil, Helldivers, MKX and soon Project Cars my PS4 is FULL of premium, awesome games that all demand my attention. Who can actually keep up with the releases?!
