After weeks of being firmly on top of the Japanese hardware charts, the PlayStation 4's slew of software releases has just about come to a close, and this has, as expected, caused the console's sales to slip.
Having said that, Sony's newest black box still managed to hang on to the top spot, but only because New 3DS sales are counted separately between different models. The PS4 sold 26,738 units, and while that isn't too bad, it's still endured a drop of about 20,000 from last week's figure.
As for the software charts, Bloodborne fell to fifth, while the new Super Robot Wars title claimed first and second place, on Vita and PS3 respectively. Meanwhile, Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair entered in seventh.
Of course, bigger tests are yet to come for the PS4, as we wait to see if it can retain its place near the Japanese summit in the following weeks. Do you think it'll hover around this area for a while, or is its reign coming to a close? Say goodbye in the comments section below.

Backlash for @Shogurok New 3DS sales logic in 3...2...1...
Disappointing drop for PS4. I hoped it would hold better than that. It'll be down to 15k again in no time.
I assume MK X and Witcher 3 will sell well?
It's really sad that the Wii U can only sell 2k more than the PS3
People really shouldn't be surprised by this anymore, Japan is the opposite to the West in that home consoles are more niche machines and handhelds are owned by practically anyone.
Those XBone sales though, nice increase ?*obvious sarcasm...
If these PSV games came out west, I'd doubt anyone would say the Vita struggles. They have some real blockbuster titles that seem to be Japanese exclusive. I'd settle for eng sub. Just bring them out west!
It was going to happen eventually, don't be so shocked. It will just go through what Wii U is going through, a slump without titles for a while.
@NomNom
It will still struggle, that is it's Destiny.
It sold well, its well and truly up and running. And its still selling well. Can we get these figures in the uk? Or how about the actual install base figure globally?
Oh crap, Super Robot Taisen Z3 is out! Gotta save up...
Not surprised by the PS4 hardware numbers but disappointed to see such a drop for Bloodborne.
@zeldagaymer93
PS3 should barely be outselling the Xbox One at this point. It's not good that PS3 is still selling as well as it has.
Is that the vita i see on the list in 3rd ? I may be reading all of this wrong but I hope that means more vita games to come, if they ship them west that is.
Hooray for Xenoblade! Super awesome game, looking forward to playing it again..
For the past 3-4 weeks, the ps vita software sales have been really good. The system is doing a psp and becoming a late bloomer in japan.
For how long the PS4 has been in the top spots everywhere, shouldn't every one own one by now??? Anyways, it's nice to know that the Vita is doing good over there...as it has nothing for it over here...and it's nice to see Wii U selling good over there. It kind of makes you wonder why Microsoft has such a bad time at selling anything there. If I remembered, 360 and One barely sells over there...I'm just curious as to why. It's like Microsoft has what nintendo has over here.
