Out This Week: Apotheon, Game of Thrones: Episode 2, PlayStation Plus Freebies

Admit it: you thought that we were going to miss this edition of Out This Week, didn't you? We've been pretty steadfast with our New Year's Resolutions so far, but the absence of Push Rewind on Sunday – in lieu of a timely Dying Light review – means that we've broken our personal promise, which is to be a bit more consistent with our columns in 2015. Still, we're eager to maintain our generally good form, so here's your regularly scheduled rundown of this week's big releases.

Pick of the Week: Apotheon

It's definitely slim pickings this time out, but we reckon that Apotheon is just about deserving of its Pick of the Week status. An action game with some basic role-playing systems, this title sees you assume the role of a lowly warrior, on a quest to dethrone the various Greek Gods. You'll be able to tackle the deities in whichever order you like, giving the affair a Mega Man-esque feel.

However, the most eye-catching thing about this historical outing – aside from it being free for PlayStation Plus members, of course – is its snazzy art direction, which has been inspired by old pottery. As far as selling points go, we reckon that that's a pretty unique one, so we fully recommend giving this hack-and-slasher a try when it deploys on the PlayStation Store.
