Dragon Ball Xenoverse PS4 PlayStation 4 PS3 3

These next few weeks are going to be massively important for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. For the first time since launch, Sony has actually amassed a decent software lineup for Eastern gamers, and it'll be hoping to see its hardware sales increase as a result. And improve they already have, but only marginally; according to Media Create data, the next-gen console managed to move 18,892 units for the week ending 8th February, up from 17,392 units the period prior.

This improvement was presumably fuelled by Dragon Ball Xenoverse, which sold 34,690 units on the Japanese giant's latest machine. This was enough to put it in second on the software charts, with the PlayStation 3 version outselling it by approximately 10,000 units. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin also deployed on Sony's last-gen system in the Land of the Rising Sun last week, racking up 7,700 units. Meanwhile, a 30 hour livestream didn't do much for the re-release of Persona 4 Golden on the PlayStation Vita, as it scraped into 19th position with just 3,574 units sold.

We've included the full list of data down below, but we want to know whether you reckon that the likes of Yakuza Zero, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and Bloodborne will be enough to give the PS4 the overseas momentum that it needs. Put on your analytical hat in the comments section below.
