Toukiden: Kiwami PS4 Vita

It's been rumoured for a little while, but Koei Tecmo has confirmed that Toukiden: Kiwami will lop body parts off a slew of all-new Oni on the PlayStation 4 and Vita imminently. The updated re-release will be available from 27th March in Europe in both physical and digital formats, and 31st March in North America. Start sharpening those swords, slayers.

The update will come with double the content of Toukiden: The Age of Demons, including the core campaign, along with an extra storyline equivalent to the original in size. This takes place about three months after the battle to prevent the Awakening, and will include various returning characters such as Ōka, Hayatori, and more.

Of course, it would be a pretty dull re-release without new gear and enemies, and there'll be fresh co-operative moves for you to employ, as well as previously undiscovered Oni to slay, and new Mitama, items, and weapons to obtain. There'll also be tougher missions for you to complete if you thought that the original release was a bit of a breeze.

And don't worry if you've already invested hundreds of hours into the main Monster Hunter-esque escapade, as you'll be able to bring your data forward into the re-release – although it's unclear whether you'll be able to transfer from the Vita to the PS4. While we try to find that out, though, check out the anime trailer below which sets the new story's scene.

Update: Community manager Chin Soon Sun has confirmed that you can transfer your save data from Toukiden: Age of Demons on the Vita to the PS4.
