The Last of Us is getting some downloadable extras for its underrated multiplayer mode, including new weapons, skills, items, outfits, gestures, and special executions. In truth, this isn't terribly interesting news, but there is one slight quirk: a selection of the extras won't be making it to the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Indeed, a bevy of executions for the rifle, automatic rifle, and ground shiv will be totally PS4 exclusive.
Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli confirmed that this was mostly due to technical issues. "We had to exclude some sets from the PS3 version of the game due to memory constraints on the hardware," he said. "Yes, it seems with our latest add-ons we're squeezing every last ounce of memory the PS3 has to run our Factions mode."

Should all gamers, regardless of their platform, be able to indulge in needlessly expensive DLC? Let us know in the comments section below.

Well there goes my season pass.
Oooh that shank tho @ 0.45
Hence, why I plan on getting the PS4 version. Admittedly I've never played Last of Us and feel ashamed for not having done so. No better way to experience it than on PS4, eh?
@DerMeister I plan to crazily buy and play both the PS3 and PS4 versions personally.
Not that crazy when I will be buying Last of Us PS3 in 2015 and the PS4 version sometime in 2016 though.
As the world's biggest fan of TLoU multiplayer (well, after SanchoWest)... I will not be paying for extra animations.
Naughty dog do make some pointless dlc and I love factions. As long as they don't ruin the last of us online like they did with uncharted 3
