Sony’s heard your pleas regarding PlayStation Plus and finally seems ready to power up the service now that the PlayStation 4 is a year or so old. Writing on the European PlayStation Blog, the platform holder has confirmed the next-gen lineup for December and January – and while there are still a couple of (great) indie games present, we’ve no doubt that you’ll be paying attention to the blockbuster names.
NetherRealm Studios developed superhero brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us will represent the first of these in December, where it will be accompanied by isometric spaghetti western Secret Ponchos. Things are set to get even more supercharged in January, with the addition of first-party favourite inFAMOUS: First Light and the critically acclaimed The Swapper. We’re hoping to see a few more smiles in the comments section today.
Indeed, the only thing worthy of a scowl is the fact that SCEA has yet to confirm whether these titles will be available in North America as well, but the Instant Game Collection lineups have been largely identical globally for the past year or so, so we doubt that there’ll be too many changes. The big question is: are you happy with these titles? Cheer or sneer in the comments section below.
Update: This partial lineup has now been confirmed for North America as well via the PlayStation Blog. Happy days.

It's not completely AAA, so the infamous injustice is at 50%.
Yes, I am being that guy!
As for hoping for more smiles...
Fetch is rather fetching, isn't she...?
I'm pleased with this, I think it will go some way to appease the indie haters and people unhappy about DRIVECLUB PS+. I also like the way Sony has announced three months worth of PS+ in advance. I hope this is a trend that continues.
I would love Injustice on PS3 in the US.
I already have both games.
If I could gift the copies I already purchased I would be happy. (even to a subaccount)
Also it would be nice if you already own the game if you could get some DLC instead or gift your existing copy. Example: Escape Plan & Steam World this Month
What I am learning is to just not buy anything Digitally as you can't regift like a retail copy (Example: Injustice) and wait for a Flash Sale.
Also pre-order Digital bonuses are a slap in the face.
Look at retail LittleBigPlanet 3 it comes with more if you get a retailer copy vs digital.
The new Naruto PS3 game had day one DLC & bonuses for a Retail copy and nothing for a Digital copy (not even a option to pre-order it Digitally)
So isn't 50% of AAA, A1/2? That's good. Right?
Ii hope NA gets the same games
@get2sammyb I always thought she looked like she smelled a bit. Nice character and all that, but get a wash. That is nothing to do with the lovely Laura Bailey by the way, who I am sure is fragrant and lovely, mote the fact that Fetch is a homeless drug addict.
@Johnnycide @get2sammyb Hahah! Laughed at this a bit more than I should have.
@Splat if it's any consolation it's virtually identical to the ps3 version on the ps4...
Lol the tone of the comments on ps blog eu is totally different from that of ps blog us
I hope this finds it way to North America! I really want the Swapper. Played it and loved it on PC, and I want to try out the PS4 one. Of the 4 definitive games after November, I really want all 4, something that's not happened in quite some time.
Not interested in Injustice (multiplayer trophies), and as much as I enjoyed inFamous, I despise stand-alone DLC. The swapper might be interesting...thats about it for the next few months it seems. I hope that Sony has something else in line for NA, otherwise I thank them for this glimpse into the future so that I can cancel my PS+ for a few months without feeling like I will miss out on anything good.
Bought & finished First Light a few weeks ago & still not got around to playing Injustice yet. They'll do. I'd be happy enough if they'd just announced another batch of Indies anyway as I'm not fussed, but it's good to get something a little different on the IGC for a change
Cool but I'm more than happy just with indies, well the good ones.
@thedevilsjester So you wouldn't play First Light even though it will be free?
@get2sammyb This same partial line up has been confirmed for NA on the US PS blog http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/11/04/sneak-peek-at-ps4-plus-lineup-for-dec-jan/
Already own injustice (bought it for €15 in a sale on psn for ps4) but I was still planning to buy first light, I suppose I could just wait 2 months to get it for free.
Finally.
@3Above I doubt I will. If a game does not offer at least a minimum amount of play time, then its not worth my time. I like to get invested in a game, to spend time playing it. Cost never enters into the equation.
Ah man, I was about to buy injustice in the next couple of days, since it's pretty cheap now, as something to tide us over couch-co-op-wise until Smash comes out. Now I could wait until December... But then Smash will be out! What to do?! Seriously though, an amazing selection for November, and apparently the psplus value for money stays incredible for the near future. Good stuff!
And I hope neither of these come to NA Plus, I own both. I actually like all the indie game in Plus. The retail game are always ones I already own, or something that I won't be playing. Last one I remember being good to get with Plus, and the only one, was Gravity Rush.
@thedevilsjester It should have a decent amount of play time, especially if you do all the side-quests. Plus you should get some extra time out of arena mode, which you can use Delsin in if you own Second Son.
@Johnnycide @get2sammyb while I can't comment on Fetch, I will say I've met Laura Bailey a couple times and there was definitely no homeless smell as far as I could tell haha! She is pretty cool though
Infamous: First Light was far too short but great fun. Injustice bored the pants off of me. Neither are "AAA" so will be interesting to see if people actually want AAA and continue to question Sony or just "retail" on the service. The line-up all but confirms, for me, that DriveClub won't be happening. By February no-one will give the tiniest s**t.
On Fetch, she's hot. Simple as. Then again she looks like my missus so I have to say that.
I already got the Platinum on First Light, and have been able to consistently beat Sammy's high scores in it, so that doesn't really affect me, but Injustice is a welcome addition. It's not perfect, by any means, and I actually like Mortal Kombat 9 way more, but it's good fun, especially with friends. As for the two indie games, The Swapper has been on my radar for a while, though I've never bought it (clearly a pretty good choice on my part), and Secret Ponchos just looks awesome, so I'm very excited about all of this. Also, as for the high score thing up there, hahahahahahaha GET GOOD SAMMY
@Jaz007 6 hours is barely acceptable (and at that, the game must be amazing), 8 is decent (or bare minimum for an ok game), 10+ is good, 40+ is great. Where does this DLC fall in? From what I read it was in the 4-5 hour range with all extras. (Only goes up to 8 as a completionist score, which I don't count into regular play)
@thedevilsjester Story is about three hours, extended to near four because of cutscenes. Finding the collectibles is about an hour. Challenges can be knocked out in two-three hours. Seven hours tops.
@thedevilsjester I want to say 3-5 (my memory's a bit fuzzy) for the story with some side-quests, not all the side-quests though. Then probably at least another 3-5 from the arena, could be a lot more depending on how much you like it. Though for the story mode, I must say that I get distracted in the open-world using powers and stuff when I play inFamous. But all in all, it should get you at least 7 hours, with the possibility of an unknown amount more depending on you how much you like the arena.
@3Above Thanks for the heads up.
Swapper I've wanted to try, its still a bit pricey though so this is great news. I'd love to go back to infamous and trying out first light is good news too, I haven't much liked injustice on the vita so I'll get rid now that I'm getting it for free on ps4, I hear good things about secret ponchos although I'm not sure its my kinda game
How great!
This is great. I've been wanting first light so it will be nice to not have to pay for it. As for the other games, i'm definitely looking forward to playing secret ponchos.
I own both digitally
Been avoiding to play knack / killzone hoping both will Come to plus but instead these two comes
Well good for those hasn't buy
Awesome
Injustice will definitly be going to my library but not sure will play it though. For Infamous, it was on my to-buy list alright. Thanks Sony!
Loving this. Been enjoying the indies but yes, bout time we got a few high profile releases. Personally can't wait to play secet ponchos and first light.
Also @Bad-MuthaAdebis bought swapper on launch. Fantastic puzzler if you're into that kind of thing. I personally loved the feel and atmosphere and it has a cool, multi-ending story.
I always had a feeling injustice would be the first main retail game. Check out my previous posts.
I'm kinda torn on infamous, but not because I already own it. It's just that when delsin gets neon in the first game, it feels so magical. But the effect won't be the same if you play first light first.
@thedevilsjester sorry to disagree here, but I have one word that shoots down any argument of campaign length meaning quality: Vanquish.
That said, first light isn't vanquish, but it's pretty good if you get it on plus.
Secret Ponchos will be getting a download, looking forward to it.
Fetch was alright as a secondary character but Im not too fussed about her as a main, and the power set wasnt my fave.
@Johnnycide @thedevilsjester another one I'd throw into the mix, running with the theme of ace ridiculous shooters, is Bulletstorm. That was short as anything, but one of the most fun games around! Just because something's short doesn't mean you should avoid it entirely - many shorter games benefit from their length by not having to re-use ideas again and again. Can't say how this applies to First Light, as I've not played it myself, but generally speaking if you apply that rule religiously you will be missing out on some serious gems. Brothers is another one that springs to mind that's easily completable in one sitting, but was a great game nonetheless.
Am I the only one who prefers indie games as a freebie? The ' full game titles' are usually old and the majority of people already own them. I don't know, I just prefer Indies as freebies because every time they give away a AAA game etc I usually already have it
@thedevilsjester It's pretty clear this system isn't for you as you already have your mind set on cancelling it. Either way, there is always a downer no matter what Sony does. They could give away Fallout 4 on PS+ for free and there will still be "that guy". In this case, you are that guy.
@Demi_God you are absolutely right. I have had PS+ since the service launched because it has given out great games after great games, I keep a subscription in hopes that it will be great again, but the last few months (and apparently the next few) have been almost exclusively crap. (and to be clear I love AAA and indie alike). It's hard to let go, but it's looking more and more like Sony is banking on PS+ as a requirement for some online play on the PS4, and not caring as much about the IGC.
@Johnnycide I disagree, as I think game length is a crucial element. I would not waste my time to get dressed up and go out to a fancy restaurant to get a single bite of a very tasty meal, no matter how good that one bite was. I would rather go to the restaurant that gives me a reasonable portion that I can enjoy, even if it's not quite as good as the one bite from the other restaurant.
@thedevilsjester well again I would have to disagree. I like a local place called Est Est Italian. It's an excellent restaurant. I go there and I always have a great meal.
Sometimes though, I like to get a bagel from the cafe at the end of the road. Yeah it takes less time and isn't as much, but it fits my needs there and then. Likewise, I loved shadow of mordor. I put about 39 hours or so into it, but I also love Vanquish, which I will take out every now and then and play for half an hour or so.
It's more about my mood when I want to play, as opposed to the length of the campaign.
I've always been happy with the indie games on PS4 but 1st Light and Injustice will do as well...I was never fussed about the former as I'd already had my fill of infamous when the DLC came out, but I'll give it a shot. I'm not into fighting games, but I am into Batman so I'll have a reason to pop into the latter.
@Johnnycide Im sort of in the middle on this myself.
I buy my games for the story as a rule so I like a good 10 hours.
In instances such as call of duty, I dont enjoy the multiplayer at all so I wont buy it for a 5 hour campaign alone.
That said, Freedom Cry was brill and that was 4-5 tops Id say.
Full releases I expect a good length story but in the case of DLC and smaller titles and "Indies" Im happy to play a decent short and sweet game.
@Johnnycide unfortunately you changed the scale. I said a bite (a single bite), not a snack or light meal. So I would agree, the baggle (6 hours or so) would be worth it if it was a pretty good baggle (game). But a bite of the baggle? No thanks, I'll pass. All a bite is going to do is tease me for more, not satisfy.
already played first light, but the swapper is one i'm happy about,
that was on my "buy list" and now it's free, happy days.
Nice for those that doesn't own this amazing game and for those that own it... Well at less we got the Costume
