On the prowl

Far Cry 4 looms large on the horizon, and in an attempt to raise the title's profile, developer Ubisoft recently released this nifty clip on the PlayStation Blog. While there isn't a truckload of new information here, it does give us a much better insight into the game's time-traveling mechanics.

As the remarkably hip staffers, shot at appropriately jaunty angles, attempt to explain in the video, you'll find scraps of cloth on your adventures that will allow you to travel back in time to the ancient world of Shangri-La. This mysterious land looks a bit like Bioshock: Infinite's Columbia if it had been set in a macabre jungle infested with weaponized tigers. So, er, not really like Columbia at all, then.

Elsewhere, the developers tout the title's open-ended and emergent gameplay systems, as well as its huge open world. They also urge you to use your Dualshock 4's share button, but we promise we won't tell them if you decide not to. Are you getting frissons at the mere mention of Far Cry 4, or are you more of a Destiny person? Let us know in the comments section below.
