"That's a clever trick"

Activision just wrapped up its Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer reveal with a surprise announcement: the Day Zero Edition. This will be available to anyone that pre-orders the first-person shooter, and will allow you to get a headstart in the game by enabling you to join the action 24 hours early.

You’ll need to make those extra minutes count, too, as there’ll be a Double XP session during that early access period. You'll also get a couple of extra firearms. This offer will be available on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 3, as well as additional platforms. However, the publisher did warn that the details may vary depending on region, so we’re awaiting official information, and will update when we know more.

Update: The only catch appears to be that Day Zero Editions will be available in limited quantities in stores, so if you're buying a physical copy, you're probably going to want to ensure that you're top of the list. It's also worth adding that this offer extends to the digital version, so presumably your pre-load will unlock a day earlier if you purchase from the PlayStation Store.
