Destiny Beta 20140719172342

Outside of the alpha and beta, we haven't heard or seen much regarding Destiny's competitive multiplayer offering. Both downloadable sneak peeks only offered one game type — control — so it's about time that we got a better look at the sci-fi shooter's various modes.

And this trailer, which was shown at Sony's Gamescom 2014 presser, does just that. It may be a little on the short side, but the video does a decent job of showing off the upcoming release's reasonable amount of competitive content. Skirmish sounds like a quick, decisive affair that deals with small matches, Rumble appears to be an all-out battle with no teams, Salvage sees you nabbing relics and keeping them, Clash sounds a lot like your standard deathmatch, and Combined Arms throws vehicles into the already chaotic mix.

Along with the trailer, Bungie also took to the stage to detail some of the title's timed exclusive content on PlayStation platforms, which includes a multiplayer map and a co-op strike mission. To top it all off, the developer announced that the game's first expansion will launch in December. With Destiny only weeks away, are you eager to hop back into the Crucible?
