You can keep your cinematic third-person shooters and sprawling role-playing games, because the PS4 is about to score something much better: Tetris Ultimate. Announced by Ubisoft eons ago, we were worried that the lack of updates meant that the puzzler had been wiped out. However, it seems that the French firm has been quietly biding its time, waiting for an E3 debut – you lot were concerned about the lack of megatons, right?
We still don’t actually have any footage of the game, but it will be a 1-4 player iteration of Russia’s finest export, featuring modes such as Endless, Battle, and Sprint. It’s been designed to celebrate the block busting brand’s 30th anniversary, so expect a celebratory atmosphere throughout – and, presumably, plenty of remixes of the franchise’s famous theme tune. Has this built a path to the top of your next-gen wishlist? Wait patiently for a tall and thin brick in the comments section below.

Why no Vita version?
Can't wait for a release date. I still play the original on my NES from time to time
@jpelgrom Seems like they wanted to focus on next-gen consoles. Missed opportunity for sure, though.
I bet they have been busy planning the DLC for this thats why they didnt release.
@jpelgrom they'll probably announce a vita version a few months after ps4 launch.
@imtom2002 Don't forget the pre-order bonuses.
@jpelgrom Because Puyo Puyo Tetris is available. It is easily the best Tetris game since Tetris DS and (unless playing high level competition or with items) is fairly balanced. English translation guides are available at GaneFAQs.
