The Last of Us: Remastered hits the PS4 next month, and unsurprisingly plenty of people have already pre-ordered the title, eager to survive the horror all over again.
The good news if you haven't already laid down your cash is that Sony has slashed $10 off the price of the game in North America. It will now set you back $50 as opposed to the original $60.
If you're one of the many people who have pre-ordered the game, fear not — you won't be out of pocket. Playstation's vice president of publisher and developer relations Adam Boyes has confirmed that refunds will be issued to those who have already paid for the title:
There's no word on any reduction on the price of the game elsewhere in the world yet, but we'll update this post if we hear anything.

Saw some youtube videos on this yesterday, there were actually people speculating Sony would be dumb enough to not hand out refunds. After some of the stuff that has happened this gen, there was no was Sony was going to be that stupid. But to me it, it is another example of why I still prefer to pre-order at retail if I have the option. Just put $5 on the game, pay it off over time and if after it's fully paid if there's a reduction I just get whatever money I'm owed back when I pick up the game.
Why would anyone buy it at that price? Let alone the reduction.
Located in Austria,
I cannot preorder it yet on PSN, which I would. Same for Diablo.
50$ is too epensive =))).
I nevered played it so I wasn't tripping about the $60. Now that it's $50(PSN)-$45(on Amazon) I think more(people who already played it will pick it up. Smart more cause a remastered version of an old game shouldn't be $60.
I believe that Ubisoft will realese Watch_Dogs HD on PS4 sooner or later..
Gem that would be taking the piss bigtime as we were told they Crammed all the INFO onto the watchdogs Disk there was no room left,
bonus for me as iv never played Last of us lastgen so this will all be Brand new to me
@Gemuarto That was dull. I wonder what people are complaining about when playing WatchDogs. If there never was that Ultra high res E3 trailer, no one would open their trap about anything and be happy with how good it looks. I wonder about the specs of GTA5 PS4 though.
@Punished_Boss: Um cause they have never played the game and would like to see what all the hype is about.
@Tasuki Okay thats a logical reason, but what I should have stated somewhere in that post was referring to the double dippers who would be buying this at a high price like its a new game.
So does this mean that an upgrade program for owners of the PS3 version is out of the question?
@Scollurio don't be stupid, I liked Watch_Dogs. Just laughing about those hd ports and their prices. =)
@BL_Donth I'm really hoping for an upgrade price, the game was brilliant and I loved every minute of it but I just cant justify paying full price when the game is still on my shelf.
@Gamer83 Do you always have to pay a little when you preorder a game in the U.S. or is it just at retailers?
I preordered from Amazon and I don't think they charge until the order is shipped so I think I'm good. I'm really excited to see how they make this game look any better than it already did on the ps3. I only got to play a little of it before the disc drive took out on my ps3 so I'm stoked to see it come to the ps4. I'm hoping after Uncharted 4 is released and if it really is the last of Nathan's adventures that ND will make an Uncharted Collection (I never got to play the series) alongside making a new game, releasing the collection within the gap between Uncharted 4 and a new game. Seeing Xbox get the Master Chief Halo Collection makes me think that an Uncharted Collection would be a perfect counter to that by Sony even though the games are completely different genres they both represent their respective brands in the same manner.
This is unfortunate in some ways. E3 sale in Canada had it $70 - 30%, giving us the game for $49. If it drops $10 in Canada, we'll have lost nearly 15% of our discount; something that makes these E3 sales so good. Either way, as long as I don't pay more, I can handle.
Good to hear. Always thought that $60 was a stretch.
How much if I spent $100 already?...
@adf86
I'm actually not 100% sure how pre-orders work with Amazon or E-Bay but when I pre-ordered The Witcher 2 online from Toys R Us I believe I had to pay the full $29 upfront, it was a hell of a deal they had going on though so I couldn't pass it up. Most of the time I like to go to the store and pre-order though. Go into Gamestop put the minimum $5 and pay the rest over time. Makes it easier to budget. At least for me.
@Punished_Boss game starved next gen owners wanting something to play to justify purchase.any new release is selling well for this reason.ive played it on ps3 and considering a ps4 purchase.common sense will prevail I think in the end and ill probably get it when its cheaper
Nice $10 off...hopefully that means it'll drop down to $30 New on Amazon even faster (maybe 1-2 years instead of 2-3?).
@Gamer83 That's interesting, cos over here the majority of places & sites you just pre order for free without putting any money down. I preorded Destiny months ago cos I knew you can get access to the Beta, don't know if I'll still keep it up though.
