It’s the hook that's hard to communicate, but these brand new DriveClub gameplay videos do a decent job of demonstrating the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive’s dynamic lighting engine. The first clip shows a race taking place at midnight through until sunrise, while the second runs from dusk until dark.
Depending on how you set it up, the game will slowly transition between these disparate time periods as you race, and the title’s global illumination engine will adapt depending on other factors, such as cloud cover. You’ll need to primarily rely on your headlights when it’s dark, as the first track in particular doesn't include many street lamps to light up your path.
It looks very impressive, particularly the shadows which other vehicles cast across the track as you point your beams in their direction. Moreover, despite the backlash over the game’s framerate, we reckon that both clips demonstrate a pretty strong sense of speed. Are you impressed? Put your foot down in the comments section below.

That is well COOL the way it gets darker & lighter + Not heard anything about how they will use the DS4 pad i.e the Rumble effects are hopefully good to while playing the game.
I'm being seduced
Oh im trippin. I thought there were gonna be Marvel themed cars. lol
It's pretty. That GT license plate, though, reminded me of where my heart truly lies
It looks pretty but honestly gameplay wise it looks boring as hell.
Looks pretty good me gonna buy it
@TOMBOY25 Well, the point of the video is to show off graphics and not the gameplay. Wait until E3 then you might see some more gameplay and get a better feel of the game. I had fun playing the demo last year at SDCC.
@TOMBOY25 Having played it last year, I think the on track challenges — which aren't in this video — help to keep each corner and straight interesting, as you're constantly competing with people.
At the end of the day, though, it is still just a racing game.
