We’re in that weird spot before E3 where developers are eager to tease their upcoming products, but don’t want to say or show too much. Take this tweet from PlanetSide 2 executive producer Clint Worley, which includes the first ever off-screen image of Sony Online Entertainment’s free-to-play first-person shooter running on the PlayStation 4. There’s not much to go on, but it sure looks swell.
“The new build is about to drop, so I grabbed a picture before the install,” the employee explained. “DualShock 4 rumble will add a ton to the gameplay.” This will presumably be the version on display at the abovementioned convention in Los Angeles next month, which attendees will actually be able to play. According to the studio, the conversion’s already running in 1080p at a “steady” framerate.
This is just one of many MMO ports in production at the Sony subsidiary, with zombie shooter H1Z1 and series reboot EverQuest Next also on the way. The studio has already found massive success on its parent company’s home consoles, with superhero sandbox DC Universe Online proving incredibly popular on both the PS3 and PS4.

Shouldn't it say NEXT MONTH instead of next week? Also, can't wait to finally play it, loved it on PC.
@Scollurio Not sure what you mean. (Thanks for the heads up.)
Ah there you go, you found it! Sammy, are you going to play Planetside 2?
Because I was wondering if you guys over there are into it, we could make something like a push square clan to keep people organized? Because in that game you really need to have some sort of following, mates, or what have you, otherwise it's not too much fun...
A lot of full HD games running at 1080p on the PS4. Glad the system is still impressing.
@Scollurio I think a clan would be awesome. I haven't played this before, but I definitely be willing to check it out with community. It's something we should definitely arrange!
Ready to join a Push Square clan for this.
Really hope this is a July release.
This is going to be AWESOME! I loved the first planetside on the PC, since this is free to play, this is going to be even better. I watched a few videos on the PC version but I haven't played it on the PC, but it looks really good.
I'm really eager to try this game, I've heard only good things about the PC version!
PC was great, the ds4 will only make it better. I'm down for clan-hood
@get2sammyb Count me in too. Not really one for MMO's but this excites me.
@get2sammyb Nice one, you should probably open some thread about it in the forums? This website is the best online community I've experienced so far (and I've been to the ups and even more the depths of a lot of those...) and I already made some friends here, I guess that counts for many of us, banding together would really enhance the experience of any multiplayer enabled game really.

Do the PS4 players share the same servers as the PC players?

@thedevilsjester
Different servers for PS4. The guy also confirmed it on twitter.
Hey Sammy and Cool PS Fans,
This is probably my #1 game I've been waiting for to get on my PS4. I really believe this will be the hot game for years to come and will bring a lot of Xbox users over to Sony when they get a chance to play this game. This year I'm excited for Planetside 2, Destiny, H1Z1 (probably spring 2015 though), Sniper Elite 3, FIFA 15, Drifter (indie game), Ironclad Tactics (indie game), and Minecraft PS4 edition.
Cheers!!!
Graf
Looks great. This is the game that has me most excited other than h1z1 and the division.
I will also join in the PushSquare resistance.
