Ps4

Were you one of those forum users ranting and raving about the fact that Sony's next generation console requires a day one patch in order to make use of some of its features? Well, you'll be happy to know that there are ways to update your system without having to connect to the Internet – although they require a little more effort on your part.

As written on the official PlayStation Blog, your first option is to download and save the firmware file onto a USB drive, and then copy the data to your PlayStation 4. It's worth noting, however, that in order to transfer update v1.50, you'll need to boot up the black box in safe mode. And to do that, you'll need to hold down the system's power button for seven seconds when initially turning the device on.

Your second option seems like less hassle, but it's a little more unorthodox. Again, according to the blog's PS4 FAQ, "owners in PAL markets can contact SCEE Consumer Services to request a Blu-ray activation disc that will be distributed via mail". This method seems to be aimed specifically at those without any means of connecting to the Internet at all.

Will you be taking advantage of these alternatives, or will you simply be downloading the patch while shooting Helghast soldiers in the head? Rage in the comments section below.
