Yakuza 5

Petitions are almost always futile, but when they revolve around a franchise that’s dear to our heart, we suppose they’re at least worth a shot. A group of Yakuza 5 fans have started up an online campaign to get the latest entry in the gangster series localised. Over the past few years, publisher SEGA has stealthily deployed the latest Yakuza titles overseas in March. Sadly, this year, there’s been nothing.

The petition itself mimics the one that the Japanese company started for Hatsune Miku Project Diva F earlier in the month. So far, it’s netted around 673 likes, which is a decent return. Obviously, it needs lots, lots more, though. Clicking through here and showing your support will take all of ten seconds, so make sure that you join in now.

Yakuza 5 was released late last year in Japan, promising a slew of improvements over its predecessors. In addition to overhauled battle mechanics, a new storyline, and fresh locations to explore, it also boasts five playable protagonists, including, for the first time, Haruka, protagonist Kazuma Kiryu’s adopted daughter.
