Red coat rampage

Assassin's Creed III has unsurprisingly infiltrated the top of the UK sales charts, securing the second biggest release of the year so far. The slick stealth title doubled the sales of Assassin's Creed II, and outsold last year's Revelations by a whopping 117,000 units. PlayStation Vita exclusive spin-off Assassin's Creed III: Liberation debuted in 14th, but netted the third biggest debut in the platform's history behind launch titles Uncharted: Golden Abyss and FIFA Football.

Elsewhere, Burnout Paradise's spiritual successor Need for Speed: Most Wanted raced into fifth, while WWE '13 fought its way into third. FIFA 13 clung onto second position, as last week's front runner Medal of Honor: Warfighter dropped into sixth. Meanwhile, Skylanders Giants, Just Dance 4 and Dishonored made up the rest of the top ten.
