Yesterday we reported that a patch for ICO HD Remote Play was on the way, and thankfully for those that want to try it out the wait was particularly short. It's been confirmed on the PlayStation blog that updates are now available in North America and Europe not only for ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, but God of War Collection too.
For those that haven't used it, Remote Play allows you to stream games from your PS3 to Vita using a Wi-Fi connection. To get this to work you'll need to download free updates for both games on PS3, while this will only enable Remote Play on Vita, not PSP. There are customisable controls, including the option to set the R2 and L2 shoulder buttons to the rear touch pad on the handheld.
How would you rate your experience of Remote Play, and do you plan to give this a try?

I don't have a Vita but I'm playing through this series for the first time as we speak thanks to the GOW Saga collection and it's flippin awesome.
thats great news need more titles !
Vita only? Aw man, I was really expecting to play these games on my PSP
Yay, I seen the update today when playing the God Of War Saga Collection, and it's pretty cool that it has it now, now all I need is a Vita
Just to make things clear, your PS3 has to be on when streaming to the Vita, right?
If this is the case, then I don't really understand why anyone would do this. Anybody care to share their experiences?
@Bensen
Some people like to finish a game that they have for the ps3 when they are away. Remote play will allow this. Why not take the game disc with you? Because a lot of game save data are not transferrable from ps3 with a different account.
So far I've been playing shadow of colossus. It's been glitchy so far but playable. I get random freezes now I then. I will try god of war later.
I've only tried gow2 so far, but it works amazingly well i find. No lag using private network connection( soz not tried internet connect yet).
The game doesn't quite fill the oled screen but this can be improved in the games settingd.
Rear touch functions adequately as L2 & R2. no issues there at all.
So pleased to finally have this function. im in a situagion where the main tv is often hijacked by the wife and kids so remote play is a godsend.
So how is the improvement graphically? As everything on Remote Play used to look pretty low quality.
I'm more interested in seeing how the latency is. The latency while streaming PS1 games (and the couple ps3 games that was offered in the past) on PSP was far too unreliable. If the price is right, I'll download SotC and test it out.
@Besen Lazyboyblue describes a good situation, if someone else is watching TV you can still play your PS3 games on your Vita. In an ideal world you could also play your PS3 games while traveling but I've heard the wifi connection is a lot shakier than the direct connection. In my case, there are a lot of times I want to play a game on my Vita while I'm in bed upstairs at night, but my PS3 is downstairs with the TV.
What I really want though is for PSN games to be remote playable — being able to play Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes or Fat Princess or Critter Crunch in bed.
@KALofKRYPTON Pretty good. You're right about the ps3 looking bad over RP but the actual games look great, I'm really impressed. I assume Sony have tinkered with image quality because I remember Yoshida say that remote play need optimisations, not just a matter of enabling the function. Small patches though, around 4mb.
@lazyboyblue
Good to hear. As @nathanuc1988 says, how's the input lag?
I've always thought that the best solution for Remote Play would be to partially install part of the game to the Vita myself.
@KALofKRYPTON zero lag. At least on private network that is. Ive today tried ico and imo that looks great on vita.
Dont expect many game to work like this though. I hear the lack of memory in the ps3 prevents 99% of titles working. As i understand it the rp function is memory intensive, so games that already use alot are a non starter.
really want to play ico and shadow of collus
