Controversial L.A. Noire developer Team Bondi has risen from its resting place to announce a brand new PlayStation 4 title named Whore of the Orient. The game was rumoured some time ago, but has now been officially confirmed on the developer's website.
The game itself is set in Shanghai in 1936, and promises to explore "the most corrupt and decadent city on the planet". Team Bondi is currently recruiting for the project, which will be published by Warner Bros.
We adored L.A. Noire, so we’re eager to see what the developer can achieve on next-generation hardware. That name’s probably going to get changed, though, isn’t it?

Wow. I really think they're going to have to change that title. Pretty much rules out anyone with a family buying it, whether they're the teen or the parent. I think I'm going to rent Whore of the Orient. Like hell you are says my Wife. =P Then again, if the game is indeed aptly named based on the content, maybe they're doing parents a favor.
hope there are tons of support for ps4 liked the days of ps2...
That's a crazy game title. I don't mind it myself but they'll probably have to end up changing it.
I hope the title name doesn't get changed under pressure from censors and what not since everything else about it looks and sounds great. But, I would like the game to offer more freedom and flexibility in its gameplay than L.A Noire did.
If the game contains the graphic level of content the title suggests...it should keep the title. If it's misleading, though, they really need to change it. Considering it's a console game, I figure the odds it'll be rated AO are pretty much zip (unless Sony's actually going to allow that for once), so it probably WON'T fill out its title well.
Always felt that LA Noire was a good game half finished and was sad to see Team Bondi go. Glad they have been resurrected and interested to see where they go next...
I don't think that the title will stand, but personally I would love to see games acknowledged as legitimate entertainment for adults. Never understood why games seem to be held to a different classification as film. No one would even think twice if there was a film called that. That's why I like games like Heavy Rain so much. The whole storyline is clearly aimed at an adult audience.
I'm clearly just showing my age...
Yep, that's name is probably going to get changed. Interesting though!
