Here's Mr. Miyagi as he'll appear in PlayStation Vita launch title, Reality Fighters.

Having got our hands on the augmented reality brawler late last year, we instantly took a shine to the game's zany sense of style and accessible gameplay. Needless to say, we're rather excited to test out the final version.

It certainly looks like there's plenty to look forward to in the final game too, as developer Novarama has confirmed that the Karate Kid character, Mr. Miyagi, will feature as a boss and mentor in the final game. The legendary character, portrayed by Noriyuki "Pat" Morita, will teach you how to create characters in the game, and also share hints and tips.

You'll also have to fight the sensei at the end of the single-player campaign. But prepare for a challenge — as Mr. Miyagi can switch between any of Reality Fighters' fifteen unique fighting styles.

In a Q&A published on the PlayStation Blog, Sony XDev Europe's Mitsuo Hirakawa revealed that the team decided to include Mr. Miyagi because "we needed someone who was a true fighting master who could easily take on the best fighters from around the world, but was also wise, and capable of teaching the player".

"Plus we had to consider the tongue-in-cheek nature of the game; some of our fight styles include ballet and break dance, as well as some unusual weapons like a toilet plunger. We needed someone who was tough, but also had a softer, more humorous side," Hirakawa explained.

Other actors considered included: Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Jet Li and Mike Myers.

"It became clear that Mr. Miyagi ticked all the boxes for us in terms of a true master who has a humorous side. The Karate Kid movie being a worldwide hit and a film that we were all huge fans of also helped a little."

How is it possible not to be excited for this game?
