Play Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception in its entirety on PS Vita?

The feature — which previously allowed compatible PS3 games to be played on the PSP — was largely under-utilised because it required additional development time in order to get working. But according to Eurogamer a future PlayStation 3 update will make the home system's entire library playable with the PS Vita over Remote Play.

There is a snag, however. Current games will only run at the PlayStation Portable's native resolution (480 x 272) and will be upscaled to fit the PlayStation Vita's screen. According to Eurogamer, future games will be able to include PS Vita specific 480p modes.

While the PlayStation Vita is missing four control inputs from the DualShock 3, the site notes that these buttons can be replicated by the system's front and back touch inputs.

A catch-all implementation like this would certainly make Remote Play relevant again. We always liked the idea of the feature, but it was so under-utilised on PSP that it was practically non-existent. We've got our fingers crossed in the hope that this rumour comes to fruition.
