Boom! NFL Blitz Is Back Y'all.

Hot on the heels of its horribly mismanaged NBA Jam reboot, EA's hoping to come good with a new version of NFL Blitz.

Due out in January 2012 on the PlayStation Network, NFL Blitz will feature the same balls-to-the-wall arcade action as its predecessor. The reboot's being handled by EA Tiburon, with players from all 32 NFL teams included as well as 31 stadiums. The game will feature fantasy boss battles, various online modes, a pseudo-card game mode and a range of customisation features — all running at a silky smooth 60 frames-per-second.

"NFL Blitz was one of the great arcade classics of the '90s, and now we're bringing back everything fans loved at a great price, in high-definition and as a digital download," said EA Sports' Cam Weber.

"The new NFL Blitz will preserve the competitive nature of the original game, while delivering to fans the ultimate rivalry experiences online."

Yeah, buddy.
