Uncharted NGP Will Be More Bite-sized Than Its Home Console Counterparts, With A Bigger Emphasis On Exploration.

News coming out of France this afternoon has shed some light on the upcoming Uncharted NGP. The game, which is in development at Sony Bend, is said to be set between the events of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. More excitingly, Naughty Dog has revealed that some kind of connectivity features between Uncharted 3 and Uncharted NGP are "likely".

Fans of the franchise will remember protagonist Nathan Drake and love interest Elena Fisher falling for each other at the end of the first game. But by the time the sequel comes around, Elena is nowhere to be found, and she's none to happy with the hunky adventurer once the pair do eventually meet up. Naughty Dog's hinting that the portable spin-off will explain why Elena is so cold with Drake in Among Thieves.

Naughty Dog also revealed that Uncharted NGP will have a different vibe to its PlayStation 3 counterparts. Those worrying about playing a console game on a portable will be relieved to learn that Uncharted NGP has been designed with short-burst sessions in mind. Apparently the game has much bigger focus on exploration, and less gunplay.
