Guys Look: Splash Damage Likes Colour Too.

After years of moody, colourless shooters, we've become nostalgic for SEGA's famous Blue Skies™. The team behind Brink feel exactly the same way, paving the way to one of the most colourful first-person shooters in years.

“It is time to put colours back in first person shooters,” Splash Damage art boss Oliver Leonardi told IGN.

Of course, by the time you finish making this kind of bold statement there are other people that might release games doing the same thing! Yes, it’s true, I wanted to fight gloominess and blandness as I truly think we had enough of that, but I wanted it to fit within Brink’s context.

“The Ark is a floating island sitting in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The place is flooded with light, the ocean around acts like a giant mirror adding even more light, and this light then bounces everywhere, making bright colours bleed.”

It looks pretty gorgeous too. The game's out next week on PlayStation 3. Let's keep everything crossed for the PlayStation Network being back online, given this game's heavy multiplayer leanings.
