Assassin's Creed: Revelations Will Conclude The Tale Of Ezio Auditore This Year.

Ubisoft has officially confirmed the existence of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, due for release on PlayStation 3 this November. The game will mark the conclusion of Ezio's story, which is now being dubbed as a "trilogy" by Ubisoft like it was intended all along. (Hint: it probably wasn't.)

Apparently Ezio will follow the "footsteps of his legendary mentor" Altair (from the first Assassin's Creed), and will travel to Constantinople, to the heart of the Ottoman empire.

Alongside a brand new single-player campaign, Revelations will also boast a "refined and expanded" version of the fantastic multiplayer component that debuted in last year's Assassin's Creed title, Brotherhood.

According to GameInformer magazine, Ezio will be joined by Altair and Desmond in his final adventure. Apparently all three characters will be playable at some point.

“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said Ubisoft Montreal creative director, Alexandre Amancio.

“Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”

We're totally hyped at the prospect of more Assassin's Creed, but the inclusion of more Ezio did cause a few groans around the PushSquare office. It's not that we don't like the character — we think he's fantastic — it's just that we weren't expecting a third game in his story. We've got faith in Ubisoft Montreal to do right by the character and his story though, and we're excited to see which bonkers direction the narrative takes next.
