Screw The Haters: Resident Evil 5 Was A Great Game. (Especially The Lost In Nightmares DLC.)

We know we're in the minority, but we thought that game was friggin' fantastic. Resident Evil 4, of course, is in our top five games of all time. Despite that, we still definitely feel that Resident Evil needs another dramatic change at this point in its lifespan.

Capcom's Masachika Kawata agrees. Kawata is currently working as a producer on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, but has acknowledged that Resident Evil 6 exists, and that big changes are planned for the anticipated sequel.

"The series will see a complete renovation with the next entry on every level," Kawata told website MarcaPlayer . "But we can't forget about all the previous entries that have led to the creation of many possibilities for the franchise."

"I can't say if we're going to make it (Resident Evil 6) survival horror or a shooter, but I can say that it'll be totally different."

Survival horror. Survival horror. Survival horror. Go back to the origins of the series Capcom, just remember to modernise the controls. Best case scenario would be the original Resident Evil style of gameplay in high-definition with balls-to-the-wall amazing graphics and atmosphere. Worst case scenario would be a DOOM-esque first-person shooter with online competitive multiplayer.
