Aside from the waffling grunts of John Virgo, that memorable guitar noodle defines snooker. It's the exciting, hype-inducing riff that bookmarks three hours of Peter Ebdon staring at the table with resolute intensity. Will he ever make a shot? In WSC Real 11 you decide.

Snark aside, Dark Energy Digital appear to be adding enough to WSC Real 11 to make it a reasonable addition to the on-going snooker series. Taking a lesson from the DiRT franchise, the introduction of shot rewinds should lower the learning curve for new players. The developer is also promising perfect ball physics, online tournaments and revamped controls.

"We designed WSC Real 11 to be the slickest and most accessible version yet, while adding a host of new features driven by fan feedback such as online tournaments," said Dark Energy Digital's Pete Jones. "But it’s the new physics and replay system, which is the killer app - you can position the camera anywhere and manipulate the flow of time using the analogue triggers for super-slow-motion and even reverse-time scrutiny of the action. We also allow players to store every shot and tag their favourite replays to enjoy again and again."

Other new features include Ronnie O'Sullivan randomly going a bit mad and becoming a Buddhist mid-match. The game's new "O'Sullivan Personality Engine™" allows the character's mood to change dynamically. He'll even randomly glug on an entire bottle of Highland Spring just when you least expect it.
