As anticipated, the trailer does absolutely nothing to excite us. There are dragons. Woo-hoo, we can hardly contain ourselves. It's more or less what we expected, fantasy games are never likely to appeal to us and that's ok — we'll still continue to post about them because we know some people go crazy over this stuff. That's fine, everyone likes different things.

On the positive side, the engine definitely looks like it's taken a step-forward. It's hard to judge in such a cinematic trailer, but character models, animations and lighting certainly look better than in Fallout 3, which is great news. We'll continue to try and find the value in Skyrim, but this trailer's not doing it for us yet. Perhaps our indifference towards fantasy stems from the months we spent trudging through The Council Of Elrond, trying hopelessly to enjoy the Lord Of The Rings novels. We never did get past that chapter. To think Tolkien mocked C. S. Lewis — the Narnia novels are infinitely superior to Lord Of The Rings. Yeah, we went there.
