Tiger. Tiger. Are You There, Tiger?

The upcoming Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 boasts the scandalous golfers name right on the cover. What it doesn't include is a mug-shot of ol' trouser-snake.

EA's decided to make the inclusion of the game's Masters tournament the star of the cover. EA's used "state of the art laser scanning technology" to replicate the course at the Augusta National Golf Club. In addition to the new tournament, EA's lined up a couple of fresh gameplay modes. "Masters Moments" allow you to participate in, well, memorable moments from past tournaments. Another mode - "Tiger At The Masters" - will challenge you to replicate Tiger's four wins at the tournament. See, Tiger's totally still in the game.

Speaking to Eurogamer about Woods' absence, EA Sports' honcho Peter Moore said: "He is on the PS3 version of the game [Collector's Edition]. Our focus this year for this particular release is the Masters itself. You can see the iconic flag as part of the box art."

"If the insinuation is it's a reflection of EA Sports backing away from its relationship that goes back literally 13 years with Tiger," Moore said, "that's not the case whatsoever. You shouldn't read anything into the fact that Tiger's not featured on the box art of that particular edition."

Hmm.

The game's set to release on March 29th in North America and April 1st Worldwide. It will include full PlayStation Move support. The exclusive PlayStation 3 collector's edition mentioned by Moore will retail at $70 and will include five extra courses.
