Gran Turismo 5 Will Get Mechanical Damage Features This Month.

The details of the patch are unknown, with some sources stating it will improve on the game's current cosmetic damage model, while others believe it will allow the feature to be selected at any point in the game. Currently damage needs to be unlocked.

Kazunori also pledged to support the Logitech G25 and G27 steering wheels, as well as add lounge features, in future updates. Yamauchi furthered that the YouTube replay upload feature from the game was pulled because the process was taking too long to render, and as such using up a lot of memory. He added that the feature is still being considered for a future update though.

Yamauchi has also revealed that originally there was a free-roam area being considered for Gran Turismo 5, in which players could simply drive around, respecting the speed limit and traffic laws. Bonkers, right?
