Now You Can Stream NHL Content Straight From Your PlayStation 3.

We can imagine fans of the sport are literally drawling at the prospect of Sony's new NHL GameCenter application for the PlayStation 3

The application allows NHL GameCenter Live subscribers ($169) to "stream live out-of-market regular season and select playoff game broadcasts in HD." The app also features support for full-length replays (48 hours after they air) and unlimited access to over 500 classic NHL games in the "Vault". Non-subscribers will still have access to a heap of content through the PlayStation 3 application including "post-game highlights, team schedules, standings, player stats and profiles, and the full NHL scoreboard."

The NHL GameCenter application costs $9.99 from the PlayStation Store, but is free to PlayStation Plus subscribers. Judging by the comments on the PlayStation Blog, NHL fans are absolutely delighted at this announcement.
