While the game appeals to the shooter culture this current generation has bred, it still looks and feels distinctly Japanese. The voice acting and dialogue is horrendous, the gameplay is fast-paced and ostentatious, and the environments have that pseudo-futuristic anime vibe to them.

Vanquish almost looks like it plays more like a classic sh'mup than a modern third-person shooter. Which is cool, because it's both different and familiar.

We absolutely can't wait. We were really sceptical about this game at first, but with every trailer our excitement's grown. We just hope it's not going to get overlooked when it releases later in the year.
