Like This, But In Stereoscopic 3D With PlayStation Move Support. Nice.

And what a list it is. Flight Control HD will hit the European PlayStation Network on September 15th; just in time for the PlayStation Move's release. While it will support standard DualShock controls, it will also include full functionality for Sony's motion controller which is set to be released on the same week.

Flight Control HD's not stopping at Move support, though. Firemint's also confirmed that the game will be playable in full-HD 1080p, aswell as supporting stereoscopic 3D for those with compatible televisions. Not only that, but the PlayStation Network version of the game will feature an exclusive map called "Metropolis", which cycles through day and night.

For those unfamiliar, Flight Control puts you in the shoes of an air traffic controller. Your task is to direct planes to their correct landing zone while avoiding collisions. The game starts slow, but Firemint ensure that "players will need keen eyes, steady hands and smart strategy to keep their airspace under control once planes arrive thick and fast". We possess none, but we'll give it our very best shot.

Interestingly, Flight Control HD includes a drop-in/drop-out co-operative mode that's perfect for parties or collaborative play.

“Multiplayer is insanely fun, you can never be quite sure whether a new player is going to help or hinder your efforts so there tends to be a lot of laughing and jeering,” commented Firemint’s CEO, Rob Murray. “It’s turned Flight Control HD into an extremely social game.”

As you'd expect, there will be online leaderboards and trophies. There's no word of an American release date yet, but Firemint have committed to an October 21st launch in Japan.

It really does sound excellent. The amount of new features being added make it a super-tempting package. We can't wait to check out how the Move controls work.
