Crytek UK Aren't Working On A New TimeSplitters Guys. They're Concentrating On Crysis' Multiplayer.

Not only will the game be the showpiece for Crytek's new multiplatform engine, the CryEngine 3, but it's also got an entire team - the respected Crytek UK, formerly Free Radical (TimeSplitters, Haze) - working on its multiplayer.

This goes against initial claims which suggested that Crytek UK were working on a new "original FPS" aswell as Crysis 2. Not true. The UK-based team are working entirely on Crysis 2's multiplayer component, as confirmed by Crytek's CEO Cevat Yerli via VG247. "That is all they [Crytek UK] are doing, with a full team on it, and they are blasting forward at full speed with more focus and dedication than I've ever had before at Crytek."

Crytek claimed earlier last week that they plan to set the Playstation 3's visual benchmark. It would seem that the company aren't going for platform parity with Crysis 2, but instead want to get the most out of each of the system's the game is launched on.
