Appearing rather impressive to the untrained eye, it's the enthusiasts who've had more than a word to say about Polyphony's incorporation of bumps, scrapes and dents.
But Polyphony head Kazunori Yamauchi is unphased. Speaking with Meristation he said, "I'll only say one thing. Our team of engineers did not want to do something that has already been seen in other games. No. I wanted something completely different and new."
So should we expect perfection come launch next year, Kaz? "Yes, expect perfection."
