Heavy Rain Is So Much More Than An Interactive Cut-Scene.

It's a win-win for both you and ourselves. Next time you see someone on the Internet ignorantly claim that Heavy Rain is "just a sequence of cut-scenes," send them to this link. Seriously, it'll help our traffic and, most importantly for all of us, shut those fools up.

Ever since the game was announced we've tried to get the point into many a thick skull that Heavy Rain's gameplay is not just about cut-scenes. Do they listen? We're surprised it's taken Quantic Dream's CEO David Cage this long to clear up the myth.

"No! We don't make Dragon's Lair! This is not Dragon's Lair – do you think I'm crazy? I'm not stupid. Do you think I develop on PlayStation 3 to do Dragon's Lair again? It would be absurd. Of course it's not."</blockquote>

So there you have it. Cage went on to explain that "when there is an action sequence, yes we integrate [these] QTE sequences," but the rest of the time, you have full control.

If you've been redirected to this post because you claimed Heavy Rain was just an "interactive cut-scene," consider yourself murked.
