Another week has come to a close, and that means it's time for us to WAYP together. I love how eclectic these articles have become over the years; it's always interesting to see what everyone's playing.

I recently started Zero Parades: For Dead Spies Director's Cut, since I fancied something a bit slower-paced. Really digging it so far.

I've been scouring my PS Vita's download list for a 2D, sprite based, survival horror game, which can be completed in under five hours for Halloween. And sitting there on its lonesome ticking every box was Superflat Games' Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut.

I'm going to try and unlock as many Phantom Blade Zero Trophies as I can, and then start a quick run through Hellraiser: Revival.

I'm tempted to give the new Call of Duty campaign a run. I hear it's only a few hours so I should be able to blast through it this weeked, assuming I don't get distracted.
Those are the games keeping us busy this weekend, then, but what about the rest of you? Let me know in the comments section below.

Look outside, monster hunter stories 3 and diablo and Pokémon at the science museum. Gotta get those Pikachu
I saw this ghost with a sword whose less than one. Looks like a good time.
I currently replaying Othercide, but this time on my Pro. I loved the game when it first came out in 2020, and played it through on my Series X where I earned all the Achievements. Now that I find myself playing through many of my favourite games, but this time on PlayStation. Obviously, my aim is the get the Platinum Trophy... 😉
The big question, having finished Control Resonant last weekend, is what new single player game do I play alongside the GOTY contender that is Star Wars Galactic Racer?
The straight choice, knowing I can finish one but maybe not both ahead of GTA6 is... Onimusha or Phantom Blade Zero?
Fellow PushSquarians, I would appreciate your feedback and guidance. And I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Also - what a year of the games. Loaded doesn't even cover it.
Phantom Blade Zero and Switch Sports Resort. And also finally coming back to try and finish Hogwarts Legacy
Phantom Blade zero and I've got to be honest.... it's a 9/10 and has over taken Onimusha for best combat of the year for me.
Hellraiser is genuinely up there with my favourite ones this year. Completed last night and it's a wild ride. Just so much fun and bloody awesome fan service ❤️
Crimson Desert (god the new underwater stuff is insane) and Phantom Blade Zero for me.
@SEVENTEENSOILS Hellraiser is my sleeper hit of the year, I LOVED it, and patiently waiting for Push Square to do a redo review for it, like they did with Crimson Desert
@DennisReynolds Getting back into Crimson Desert and it's just awe inspiring in it's scope. Unbelievable what they've managed to create and follow up with regular updates too...
@Oram77 absolutely. Criminal to give it a 6 imo but I imagine it's extreme nature isn't for everyone's tastes 😂
Play some more Phantom Blade Zero. The game is definitely an interesting one but I'm only 5 hours in so far.
More Spookiness this time it's The Midnight Walk
My original plan was to give it an hour or two tonight after some traveling, that hour or two turned into five and I'm still playing. It's more of an experience than a game, one people really need to see for themselves. I went in completely blind and was blown away by the visuals and the aesthetic. I don't recall having ever seen stop-motion animation in a game before, it feels like a Tim Burton film in the best ways possible. I lost myself and my real surroundings so quickly, and I wasn't alone either I had Potboy by my side. I really can't get over how well sculpted the characters and the world are.
The music too is fantastic. I think I'll need to look into the soundtrack when I finish. The jazz is so spontaneous in it's arrival and departure as it makes way for sweeping Scandinavian folk music. It reminds me of the first time I watched Taxi Driver and heard Bernard Herrmann's score and the saxophone solos by both Ronnie Lang and Tom Scott. The whole game feels so haunting, isolated and yet so hopeful. It's scarier than Until Dawn too, I've been running and hiding from all kinds of creepy somethings, it's perfect for Spooky season.
I'm also going to work on upgrading my dwarves and gear in Deep Rock Galactic Survivors. It's harder than most games in the genre, and there's not a lot of room for strategy when you are being swarmed by hundreds of giant bugs, I still haven't beaten a Tier Three run. I do like that it has a gear system though, it has the usual permanent stat upgrades that you'd expect too. Having items you can equip adds a lot more to the gameplay loop. The mining is a nice twist too. I'll probably work on some Ballxpit too, that's been my main portable game while I was away. Overall I'm just happy that I finally played some Horror games, and might play even more.
If someone told me I'd play Silent Hill 2 and Until Dawn I'd say they were crazy, it was a nice accomplishment. I didn't grow up with Halloween, I've adopted it now and Spooky games were always something I thought I'd never play due to nerves/etc, it was good to push those limits. My mind thinks it's three in the morning though so I'm going to pause my Midnight Walk and do some sleep walking instead. Happy Spooky season Folks and remember to never stray from the path, never eat a windfall apple and never trust a man whose eyebrows meet in the middle 🍵
Hoping to earn the platinum for Control Resonant, which has some of the most mind bending level design I’ve ever experienced. What a trip. Then I’ll move on to Phantom Blade Zero. Happy gaming!
Just started replaying God of War Ragnarok (still one of my 2 favourite games of this generation) in readiness for Laufey early next year.
@Oram77 What are the key differences for you - Phantom Blade Zero vs Onimusha? As per my earlier comment my dilemma is a choice of which of them to play next/first. What do I need to consider before I dive into one of them Saturday morning?
Finished Galactic Racer, getting the last ending in Castlevania(what a game!) and getting ready for Ocarina of Time and GTA6.
And ofcourse….. as always …. occasional race in GT7.
@Marquez I mean, they are both 9/10 games so you basically can't go wrong with either! My vote goes to PB0 it that helps you in anyway
@Oram77 Thanks - the intention is to play both (not just because I've spent the money!) but conscious the GTA clock is ticking.
