The First Next Generation Sonic Could Have Been So Good. It Wasn't, But Now It's Getting Trophies...

We're big fans of Sonic and SEGA games in general, but even we have to admit that the early PS3 title was shoddy at best. Having said that, we've already committed to playing through the game again. Why? Trophies.

The game mysteriously appeared on this morning's European PlayStation Plus line-up, with a PSN re-release now confirmed. It took a few confused "Sonic The Hedgehog?" queries before a SCEE representative dropped by to explain, mind. "Hi, its the 2007 [European release date] PS3 version of Sonic but re-mastered with trophy support," revealed James Thorpe.

Ok, so it's a terrible game. But it's free (for PlayStation Plus subscribers) and it's getting trophies. We'll be playing it through horrified eyes, but play it we will. Is this bad?
