Sony Prepping Improved PS App with Expanded Social Features

It is live for me as of now. Must have updated overnight for me.

It looks great. The PS App has always been solid in my opinion and any improvements to the experience are welcome.

I rember they had the communities section or another app or whatever and that didn’t last.

@KillerIsDead Communities was a great idea, but I can certainly understand why they gave that one up quick lol

I don’t care. I don’t have nor want any Playstation Friends. I would like a proper filtering function.

Wait it didnt do that this whole time, cause i swear i be at work mad af seeing what my boys are playing.

I got the update and it feels a little sleeker. Still looks the same but there's a breakdown on the bottom row that feels more modern than before. The PS Stars icon is still there though...

I’ve never used this app.

I’m surprised they aren’t trying to wedge a roguelike mode into the app. It doesn’t need it and it has nothing to do with the core app experience, which by Sony logic means they need to do everything possible to shoehorn it in there no matter what.

A way to easily hide/blacklist slop games/developers from the PSN store would be a nice addition

Be good if we could use half the features without being treated like idiots and having to fork over ID to a shady 3rd party company

I don't really care much what my friends are playing, and I'd rather have a slimmer app that strips out all the social media stuff, personally. But so long as I can turn things off and it doesn't spam me with notifications, I don't care that much.

Mine has already changed. Looks pretty nice.

Doesn't seem a huge difference, it already shows what they're currently playing, just not recently, unless I already have the update and never noticedit didn't do that before 😆.

I use the app primarily to download images/videos to my phone to post in various places and browse the store

I use both the PS and Xbox app on my iPhone and like both apps for what they do. Anytime either wants to add some features or make the app better i am all for it. I will check this out when the update goes live.

The one thing I wish they would add to the app is game ratings. It’s dumb I know. But I add countless games to my wish list while browsing on my phone and then I have to go home to check the actual rating or go to some other sites to look up reviews. To make things even slower for me since my wish list is so big none of the titles appear for me until I open them.

Got the update on my iPhone yesterday. Looks very solid but it was already a nice app.

Their Marathon logo is paired with 007 First Light as the description around the 3 to 4 second mark.

I don't recall communities on the App, I didn't use it much, but I did really enjoy communities on console. I was in quite a few screenshot/photo mode clubs and I miss the feature.

I hope it finally let's us watch the total play time of all games we have played instead of just the last 3.

I’ve always why the ps store on the console shows the user rating for the game but it doesn’t on the app?

Useless update. Need less invasion of privacy and more quality choices for PS plus each month.

I've been unable to actually download screenshots I take on PS5 to my phone so I'm really hoping this new touch up actually fixes that problem too.

But Sony still won't let me play physical discs on my phone! I tried cramming a disc into the charging port but it didn't work! Evil, evil Sony!

I would like a decent store with genres and good search engine. A way to change my online name without the risk of losing my older trophies and DLC. What about a ability to sort your trophies by let's say alfabet or by platform.
