Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, a PS2 action classic, is out today on the PS Store for normal purchase (£7.99/$9.99) and on PS Plus Premium for subscribers.
It means that the Onimusha series is almost entirely available on PS5 and PS4, but fans are raising an interesting quirk about this release: you should get the Japanese version for the best experience.
Apparently, there are noticeable differences in the difficulty of the USA version when compared to the Japanese one, to the point where the former is harder than the latter. Especially in the boss encounters, the balance of the USA edition is supposedly made much tougher.
To access the Japanese version, games industry member Alex Aniel suggests changing your PS5, PS4's system language to Japanese. You don't get the option via region switching; it's only available through a system language change.
Alongside Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, PS Plus Premium also adds Atlantis: The Lost Empire from the PS1 to its roster of classic games. Will you play the Capcom classic via this method? Let us know in the comments below.

I played and finished the USA version but never feel the bosses was hard.
But i wonder if changing system language let you play with Japanese dub.

If something gets too hard it depends on how much I care. Either I try and try or I "finish" it on YouTube.

I played the american version back in the day and it was fine. I even got almost all secret weapons in that dar realm with many rooms.
This Ps Plus version have trophies??
Why the heck easier is "better difficulty experience"?
I'm not the most skilled gamer and I finished this when I was 16, before I played and liked hard games like Dark Souls.
I think the difficulty is being slightly overstated.
I don’t speak Japanese so how am I supposed to even navigate it or understand what’s going on?
