It May Be 18 Months Old, But Monster Hunter Wilds Just Got a Free Playable Demo on PS5 1

Publisher Capcom has just released a free playable demo for its 2025 action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds.

Announced on its socials and available on PS5 now, the Prologue Demo grants you access to the game's first few campaign missions, giving you a taste of the action in the early hours.

A nice bonus is that, if you decide to buy the game and continue playing, your save data from the demo will carry over so you can pick up where you left off.

The demo disables online features, so you won't be able to team up with other players, but it should provide a good taster of what MH Wilds is like for new players.

It seems the company really wants people to give the game a try; while it was received favourably at launch, it drew a lot of criticism that mainly boiled down to poor optimisation, especially on PC.

18 months down the line, the game is in a much better state, so it makes sense to release a demo so people can see the progress.

If you're interested in checking it out, the demo is about 19 GB in size, so make sure you have the space available.
